thought on king kong movie

Looking at king Kong from the year 2010, it looks really really old and the special effects, obviously, are way off. But, for being made in the year 1938 its pretty impressive. I think the idea of making king kong, the komodo dragon, dinosaurs and all the other jungle creatures out of clay and whatever else, was a pretty clever idea. To be honest, I think the overall storyline of the movie was kind of lame. I’ve seen parts of the modern day king kong, that ones alright I suppose. Some parts of the move were also unrealistic. Like when king kong is in New York in that theatre. How did those few men get a enormous ape on a ship, across the ocean, through NYC, and, into a theatre?... Come on now. I found some parts of the movie that were probably meant to be serious and most likely were viewed as awful back in the day, to be kind of funny. The cornyness of those scence makes it funny. If you think about it, 1938 wasn’t all that long ago. Its amazing to see how much technology and film making has advanced over the past seventy two years.

  1. I can definitly agree that the relocating of King Kong was really unrealistic, and the plot was predictable in the basics of it. For the time period, however, I think that was new to them so it was probably way more intriguing than it is to us now. I also agree that the creation of the dinosaurs and King Kong were very clever. I think it took a lot of creativity and originality to figure out how to make those things. If we did that for all of the films we make now each one would take years! It surprised me that it only took them 10 months to make.
